INSPIRE By Shika My'Chelle: Our Story and Mission

A Journey of Patience and Faith

INSPIRE By Shika My'Chelle officially launched in 2017, but its journey began 18 years earlier with the dreams and dedication of Owner and CEO Yashika M. Stewart. Our brand is a real-life testimony of God's perfect timing, built on a foundation of passion, perseverance, and unwavering faith.

A Delay Is Not a Denial

Yashika's love affair with fashion started during her senior year at Wyandanch Memorial High School, where she studied Fashion and Merchandising at Wilson Tech in Dix Hills, NY. She fell head over heels for the industry. In 1998, after graduating and marrying her high school sweetheart, her plans for college were put on hold when she discovered she was pregnant. Determined to raise her child herself, she chose family over further education, demonstrating her dedication and selflessness.

A Change Is Coming

In 2013, Yashika felt a divine calling to create something greater—something that would stretch beyond her comfort zone. This calling led to the birth of Beautifully Unique Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the youth and serving the community. From hosting youth events and mentoring to volunteering within schools and organizing women empowerment events, Yashika poured her heart and soul into this mission. Despite feeling burnt out after three years, she knew the vision for Beautifully Unique Inc. was far bigger than herself. She needed to reignite her creative spark to continue this mission.

After much prayer and reflection, Yashika realized that her creative journey needed to come full circle. It was time to return to the fashion world she had left behind 18 years ago.

Embracing Her Calling

With renewed purpose, Yashika started jotting down positive messages, quotes, and concepts, knowing she had to create a brand that promoted positivity, self-care, empowerment, and confidence. Her vision was clear: a brand that embraced all races, genders, sizes, and ages while reflecting her unique identity. And thus, INSPIRE By Shika My’Chelle was born.

What began as a line of inspirational tees expanded in 2020 into a comprehensive range of handmade self-care products, even amidst a global pandemic. Trust in God's plan has continually propelled our growth and impact.
